T.Y. Leung

T.Y. Leung, Consultant, as known to his colleagues and friends is a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Sydney, Australia. He has a career of over 30 years with multinational companies in the chemical industry in Asia Pacific and is a professional interpreter and a translator of commercial, technical and legal documents and contracts. 

His experiences included sales and marketing of chemical products, laboratory and TS&D work, business and market developments, engineering and construction and general administration of chemical plants. He has significant involvement in the construction of two world scale chemical plants on green-field sites, in Hong Kong and China, with capital investments of 20 (1976) and 70 (1994) million US dollars, respectively. 

He was a key member of several high-level negotiation teams that led to licensing of various technologies to the Chinese chemical industry and the successful creation of one chemicals manufacturing joint venture in China, all Five Year Plan projects. Besides being an active member of these negotiation teams, T.Y. acted as the principal coordinator for and interpreter in the meetings and the main translator of the resulting technical and business and legal documents and contracts.
